Q: Is this fake or is this real?
A: FAKE is actually real. You can actually buy a shirt, we actually send it to you, and you can actually make money by wearing it.
Q: What is this?
A: FAKE self-replicating shirts advertise themselves, and use humans as their host, to help themselves propagate in the world.
- You order a shirt
- We make a custom shirt for you with a unique QR code that is linked to your account, and mail it to you
- You get people to scan the code on your shirt (get creative) and make a purchase
- Anytime someone makes a purchase using your unique QR code, you earn a commission
Q: Is this really a pyramid scheme?
A: Well, ok, not really. In a pyramid scheme someone gets screwed over. Instead, this is an affiliate program with multi-level marketing, but we like to be a bit provocative.
Q: How much do I earn?
A: Anytime someone scans your code and buys a shirt, you earn $3. You can think of these as your shirt’s children in the shirt family tree. If your shirt produces any grandchildren you earn $1.50 for each of those. Great-grandchildren earn you $0.75. And so on.
Q: How do I maximize my earnings?
A: Wear your shirt in public, talk to people about it, make posts on social media, etc. Be sure to include your personalized referral link when you post. Get creative, but don’t be spammy / scammy about it.
Q: How do I get credit for purchases?
A: When someone visits our site either by scanning the unique QR code on your shirt, or by visiting your personalized referral link, any purchase they make records you as the referrer. Once that order is fulfilled, we issue you a credit for the commission you earned.
Q: How do I see what I’ve earned?
A: After you place an order, we send you a link to a your account page, where you can see how many scans, purchases, and earnings your QR code generated.
Q: How do I receive my earnings?
A: After you reach $10 in earnings, you can visit your account page to make a withdrawal. We currently support PayPal and Venmo.
Q: Why is everything in the store sold out sometimes?
A: FAKE produces limited runs of each product. Our earlier editions are low-quantity. We increase the available quantity with each edition we release. Sign up for our mailing list to receive a notification of the next drop.
Q: What is your return policy?
